This place is amazing and amazingly Idaho...not Boise/LA Idaho, but local down home Kuna. Crystal manages the place and is amazing!! She explained the whole menu, explained their history and purpose. The 'crew' are ALL friendly and fun and just looking to make sure everyone is happy, and full!!

So many great choices on the menu, that I had a hard time choosing. Went with the pork belly hash Skillet. Yum! Friend had the pulled pork hash Skillet, which I'm trying next time. Gravy on the side was an excellent add. Got cinnamon roll to go but was just a tad dry when I heated it up later. I blame me for that and not having it fresh. Waitress and cook both checked in on us often! I'll be back.

The Pork Belly 271 N Avenue B, Kuna Open 7 days a week for breakfast and lunch, also has a drive up for the coffee drinks Background: This building started out as Kuna’s firehouse in 1953, and as recently as 12 years ago it was the Firehouse Pizzeria and Grill, then the Coffee Cup Café in 2017. The building is owned by Mike Larson of Big Mic’s. Now: Chef Wally heads up the restaurant, aptly called “The Pork Belly” as it has some of the most creative, rich choices for entrée’s, most meat centric and bbq based as well as the standard breakfast fare. Portions are huge, flavors are amped up and it has a diner style vibe with whimsical wolf and pig murals and a pink pig theme. Chef Wally started up Fat Guy’s Deli, well known for themed sandwiches and unique soups and an attitude about sticking to custom combinations. “Want to have it your way, go to Subway.” He sold that business to a customer, who has since expanded the concept. Wally is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America (the other CIA) many years ago and knows his stuff when it comes to food prep and unique pairings. He also has a catering company, Just Cater It with a mobile kitchen. The Pork Belly has a fun Facebook page with daily specials and cute pig graphics. The location: If you are looking for a little out of the ordinary breakfast fare, ravenous for some spicy food or big portions, I’d recommend you take the drive south to Kuna via Meridian Road or Ten Mile. It’s right off the main drag, and around the corner from a nice tree-filled park where I walk my dog. The food: When you order biscuits and gravy, you’ll get unique dense flat biscuit tops smothered in a pepper and bits of sausage thick gravy with a sprinkling of green spring onions. Not so pretty in a photo, but wow is it good and filling at the same time. The hash skillet and bowl choices are abundant, the omelets huge, the French toast, sweet. Pancakes, a half stack for 6.50, is plenty with the choice of blueberry cream cheese, chocolate or Marionberry. My favorite omelet is The Countryside with spinach, onions, mushrooms, bell pepper, and Swiss cheese. Hash browns sometimes line up on the griddle, browning on both sides and soft texture in the middle. Favorite hash entrée is the Caveman with scrambled eggs over potatoes, cheese, onions, mushrooms and pork belly. Not feeling adventuresome, order the Basic B with ham and eggs (2) over easy and toast for 13. The sides of meat include a flavorful smashed sausage patty (my favorite) or a thick slice of ham or crispy bacon or fried pork belly. Service: It’s diner style, so the coffee is refilled quickly, the servers are attentive but always moving to the next table when it's busy. They do have a full selection of flavored and fancy coffees. If by yourself, there is a counter. First visit, it’s an extensive menu. Don’t be in a hurry to decide as there are lots of choices to consider. Final note: Looking for a traditional breakfast fare, this might not be your place. Still, I hope you’ll try it soon and let me know what you liked.

Pork Belly is always awesome, they have some of the best stuffed French toast, I wish they had a caramel banana one though! Hashbrowns are always crispy, gravy is amazing, and the service is great.

What a great find for us! We came in for a late breakfast and had a great time and great food. I had the chicken fried steak/biscuit & gravy/2 eggs/ hashbrowns! That my friend is what I call a BREAKFAST! My wife had hamburger she thought was great. What really got her attention were the fries! She said they were #1 for her - best she’s had in a long time. The service was extraordinary and we highly recommend this place.

Everything was great today, i can’t remember our servers name but she was blonde with a hat and sweatshirt. She was very attentive, and you could see that she was on it. The atmosphere was wonderful even with how busy they were today. The only thing I didn’t really care for was the gravy it didn’t have much flavor, but all the food was hot and came out in a timely manner. Great job guys you will definitely be keeping our business!
